In 2018, the city voted and approved a bond referendum to repave or reconstruct the city's infrastructure year by year. The Space Coast Area Transit has been serving the Brevard County area since 1985. There are 19 routes serviced by the bus system throughout the county Monday through Saturday, with limited routes ran on Sundays. The Orlando International Airport is 66 miles from this city, and the Melbourne International Airport is the closest, being only 8 miles away from Palm Bay.

Palm Bay Kayaks is a company that will take you around Turkey Creek Sanctuary for a guided tour of the site, or you can go Kayaking day or night to enjoy the bioluminescent bay. Go horseback riding at Pine Creek Ranch or take a hike at The Micco Scrub Sanctuary. You can also play golf at The Majors Golf Club at Bayside Lakes or enjoy one of many outdoor recreational places found around the city.  

Shopping Local

Palm Bay Center has a selection of great stores located in Midtown Plaza. Hammock Landing is another popular shopping plaza located in West Melbourne, outside of Palm Bay city. The Marketplace at Palm Bay Shopping Center has a Super Target and other big-name retailers. Melbourne Square is an indoor shopping center similar to an indoor mall with a food court. They also have live music performances and entertainment events, such as Trivia Night. A few highly recommended restaurants are The Shack (seafood), The Green Leaf (brunch), La Estancia de Luisa (Colombian cuisine), and Skeebo’s Rib Shack (soul food).
