Local History

Hugh Grant of Pittsburgh was the area’s first European settler. In 1803, he bought land that became Grove City, but he died in an accident not too long after that. William F. Beulah Park, the first thoroughbred racetrack in Ohio, made Grove City a racing and entertainment center. Beulah Park hosted horse races from 1923 to 2014.
