Things to Do in Little Rock

If you’re a history buff, head to the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site where segregation began in 1957. This school is still in use today, but guided tours are available. The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, the Old State Museum, and the Arkansas State Capital are also popular places for a taste of history. 

If you love the idea of a day outdoors, visit the Wildwood Park for the Arts, the Little Rock Zoo, or the Big Dam Bridge, the longest bicycle and pedestrian bridge in the country with over fourteen miles of trails that run along the riverside.  

Families with children will have a fun experience at the Museum of Discovery, which has four large interactive exhibits and Riverfront Park, which has plenty of playgrounds, historical markers, sculptures, and trails.

The Local Sports Scene 

Since there are no professional league sports teams in Little Rock, you can take your crew out to play an organized game of adult kickball, soccer, volleyball, softball, basketball, flag football, and dodgeball tournaments in the Little Rock metro area. These adult leagues offer co-ed and same-sex teams of all different skill levels, so there's a spot for everyone. 

The city also offers many youth athletic programs for children ages 3-17 to include Cheerleading, Teeball, and Track & Field. The Little Rock Trojans represent the University of Arkansas at Little Rock sports teams. You can watch the basketball team play at the Jack Stephens Center. To view the baseball team, visit the Gary Hogan Field. The wrestling team is an affiliate of the Sun Belt Conference Pac-12 Conference and is an NCAA Division I university.
