The Scottsdale summers are dry and extremely hot, lasting from May to September.  Temperatures rise to an average high of 106°F in the summer. The winters are mild, with average lows of 44°F. This cool-season begins in November and ends in February.  

This desert rarely sees rain, accumulating an average of 1 inch per year. Although rain is scarce in Arizona, this state is prone to severe, flash floods. The sun is the king of these lands, claiming up to 14 hours and 23 minutes of daylight during summer days. The best time to visit Scottsdale is from April to June and from September to October.
