Know Your Neighborhoods

Lower Downtown (LoDo) is filled with small, older buildings that have been turned into lofts and new condo towers and the streets are lined with restaurants, bars, and shops. A Riverfront Park is right across from LoDo, making this an attractive place to live. 

The Highlands is a diversified community with many Italian Americans, Latino families, and Mexican immigrants. Located in northwest Denver, this little community has a unique vibe that is different from the rest of Denver.  

The most expensive neighborhoods to live in are the Golden Triangle, Cherry Creek, and Lodo. The most affordable communities are Northern Denver, Park Hill, and Southwestern Denver.  The best areas to raise a family in Denver based on crime/safety and quality of schools are Wellshire, Hilltop, Lowry Field, and Washington Park.  

The Local Sports Scene  

Denver is home to several professional sports teams. The Colorado Rockies (MLB) play at the Coors Field. The Colorado Avalanche (NHL) and the Denver Nuggets (NBA) play at the Pepsi Center. The Denver Broncos (NFL) play at the massive Empower Field at Mile High, and the Colorado Rapids (MLS) play at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, a new high-tech soccer field. There are tours available for the Coors and Empower fields throughout the year. An excellent place to visit is the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and the National Ballpark Museum.
