Local Sports

In 2011, the Bears men's basketball team won the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship. Local Culture 

Known as "McCoy territory," this city serves as a central lodging hub for Pike County and the surrounding regions. This County is rich in history and holds the most famous feud globally: The Hatfields and the McCoys. There is a self-guided driving tour that showcases all the historical sites of this feud. The Pikeville Cut-Through was constructed between 1973-1987 and is one of the US's largest civil engineering projects. The Appalachian culture is celebrated annually at the Hillbilly Days festival.
